You can easily preview how a content item appears on the website front-endfrontend. While in principle the XperienCentral Editor presents a WYSIWYG view of your content and you are pretty much previewing seeing it as it really is while editing it, some aspects of the presentation such as the rendering of and spacing around page sections, layouts, images, and so forth can only be seen as they appear on the front-end using the preview function.

  • Contains special characters. A special character is anything that is not a letter or a number.
  • Does not resemble your username, first name, last name or email address.
  • Does not resemble your previous password.
  • Contains one or more numbers.

In addition to the enforced rules specified above, a strong password also adheres to the following:

  • Does not contain any string of letters that spell your company name, your job description, the name of a pet, your nickname, or any other word that could be associated with you personally.
  • No string of letters spells a word that can be found in the dictionary of your language.
  • If you use numbers, they do not represent anything associated with you such as your birth date, age, house address, and so forth.

When you type your new password into the field, the "Password Strength" field will indicate the strength of your password using different colors. The following colors are used to indicate the password's strength:

  • Red — The password is extremely weak (not accepted).
  • Yellow — The password is moderately weak (not accepted).
  • Blue — The password is good.
  • Green — The password is strong.

Notifications allow you to monitor the entire lifecycle of content items. When you subscribe to one or more notifications with respect to a lifecycle change to an item, whenever a change occurs or is going to occur within a specified time period anywhere in the channel, an alert is sent to you. The notification that a specific lifecycle change has occurred or will occur anywhere on the website is triggered whenever the workflow of a content item is modified or will soon occur. When you subscribe to a specific notification type, you receive an e-mail notification regardless of who the user is who performed the action, including yourself. The name of the content item in the e-mail message is a link which you can click to navigate directly to the content item within the XperienCentral Workspace.

You can choose from the following notifications:

the preview function shows you the whole picture of the content item without any sign of the Workspace or other parts of the XperienCentral backend. The preview functionality of XperienCentral works for both published and planned versions of content items. Furthermore, you can make the preview of an unpublished content item temporarily available to a non-XperienCentral user, that is, someone who does not have permission to log in to the backend of your XperienCentral deployment.

This tab shows the sessions that are active for the current user. Multiple active sessions can be a result of using multiple browsers or devices to access XperienCentral or multiple users logging in to the same account. It can also be the case that someone is using your account illegally. This tab shows all active sessions for this user which makes it possible for you to determine which ones are legitimate. You can terminate any suspicious sessions. The following information is provided for each active session. Contact your application manager if you have a question about a session you find suspicious.

    http://gxsoftware.com/products/contact.htm?previewtoken=9c9a5af0

and the "Generate" button is replaced by the message "Copied to Clipboard". Distribute this link to everyone you want to grant the right to the preview. This preview URL is temporary and expires after the amount of time defined by your application manager — the default expiration time is 24 hours.

    Info

Each time you navigate to a content item, the Generate button is again available. If you generate multiple preview URLs, each is unique and all will remain valid for their timeout periods.
