In the Language Labels panel, you can manage the labels for all your supported languages that appear in XperienCentral for all your channels. This includes labels that appear in content elements and all informational and error messages for all the languages supported by your website. You can also add new languages and set the default content language.

The following applies to XperienCentral versions R31 and higher.


In XperienCentral, you can set any of the available languages as the default content language is the language that is ranked number "1" in the Language Labels panel. The default content language determines the following:

  • All content items you create are assigned the default content language if you do not switch languages in the Language Widget.
  • The Language Widget is set to the default content language each time you start a new XperienCentral session.The
  • All content items you create are in the default content language if you do not switch languages in the Language Widget.
  • Content created by a developer in XperienCentral is used when a developer creates content using the Java API without explicitly specifying a languageis in the default content language if one is not explicitly specified in the code.

The default content language can be seen at the top of the Language Labels panel in the list of supported languages. The current default content language is assigned the number "1". For example:
